The Mist Walk
On one late Saturday night, I was reminded once again that we are capable of much more in our human existence than we are being told.
I was invited to a night mist walk at a location in the National Park, led by someone who has been leading these excursions for quite some time. When we arrived at the sacred location, the car lights went off and darkness ensued.
One by one, we walked into the forest, alone, for 750 meters. We were instructed to pay attention to everything. Letting go of our conditioned way of being and stepping into the unknown.
I looked into the dark void of the forest and began my slow trek, feeling into the ground with my barefoot shoes and only able to see my hands. As I connected to my presence and breath, immediately, my vision began changing. I suddenly saw sparkles and some colours. Things started to look blurry and trippy, but I was completely sober.
I suddenly entered a section that was complete blackness, and it was here that I did a bad habit of mine. I lost trust. So I turned on my infrared light to make sure I wasn't going to walk off a cliff. "Turn that off!" someone called out. Damn it. Ok I really can't touch the light now. I have to fully embrace the experience and TRUST in the unknown.
I kept walking and entering a deep state of consciousness as I continued. I began seeing sparkles again. Oh look, is that tree glowing?! That rock is absolutely glowing! What's that noise? Oh it doesn't matter, I've been through many challenges, I'll be fine. There is a glowing rock shaped like a arrow. Look at that mist! Incredible. (There was no physical mist that night - but in this state, we could see the mist).
I heard a running stream and continued on in awe as I saw illuminescence and auras all around! The skin on my hands was glowing! My skin and tissue looked like I was holding them up in a room full of black lights. I walked through another dark passage and then saw beams of mist and this glowing tall tree which immediately shifted something in my heart and expanded it.
We all met at this spot and began sharing our stories of the walk with the group. A heart shaped cluster of leaves hung from a branch looking over us. Each person's skin glowed. You could see their auras. The plant behind them kept communicating with lights turning off an on the leaves. I could feel others there, spirts. Our guide said they had been following us for some time. They were playful, like fairies moving in and out of the trees. As soon as we started bringing ourselves back into our conditioning, the auras were gone, the trees stopped speaking.
On the way back we played with the glow over the ferns which was like snow. Saw more auras and glowing trees, blues, greens, oranges swirling throughout the trees. As a friend moved, I saw sparks at their feet. We played with the glowing rock, it caused our hands to glow even brighter. After making it through the first dark passage, we turned around to notice a rectangle shape in the trees like a door and around that doorway was a blue green aura.
I was legit like avatar.
I am so grateful for visiting this sacred place. Some of it was a biological illuminescence like fungi and mosses, but a lot of it was an expansion of our consciousness and seeing beyond what we are conditioned to see. Everything is energy after all. And in darkness, we can see the light. Now I am wondering what would happen if I bring a crystal bowl next time!
